Race Definitions

These are the definition of events used in the Race Analysis Editor.

Race Start
When the buzzer or starting gun sounds or when the strobe light is visible for hearing impaired swimmers.

Entry
When your hands first enter the water after the dive.

Breakout
When your first body part has broken the surface of the water.

Race 15m
When your hands cross the small black or red disc marker of the lane rope after the dive.

25m
When your hands cross the middle of the (usually 1 metre) red marker of the lane rope at the half way point down a long course (50 metre) pool.

Turn Start
When your hands cross the first red marker (5 metres from the wall).

Length Finished
When your hands (fly and breaststroke) or feet (front, back crawl) touch the wall.

When your hands cross the black marker (10 metres from the wall).
